What is Amazon's Official Insurance Requirement?

According to Amazon, Section 9 of the Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement states the following: “Sellers who generate total sales exceeding $10,000 on Amazon.com within a month must maintain valid product liability insurance.  Policy criteria accepted for Amazon product liability insurance

The commercial liability insurance policy requested by Amazon must meet the following conditions:

• Type of policy: General, umbrella or excess liability
• Coverage limit: At least USD 1,000,000 both per event and total
• Policy type: Preferably occurrence-based (claims-made only accepted in certain circumstances)
• Cover all Amazon sales
• Deductible should be maximum 10,000 USD
• Amazon.com Services LLC and its affiliates must be named as "additional insured" in the policy
• The insurance company must have an S&P A- or AM Best A- financial rating
• The policy must be signed by an authorized representative of the insurance company
• Amazon must be notified 30 days in advance in case of cancellation or change

LLC Can I Buy Liability Insurance Without Being a Company Owner?

No.
Amazon requiresthat the name of the company registered in your Amazon account be listedas the “legal entity” on the policy.
